Shah Cheragh Shrine
The Shah Cheragh Shrine, the mausoleum of Ahmad ibn Musa, is located in the heart of the city of Shiraz. He is traditionally believed to have been the brother of the eighth Imam of Shia Islam. The first major restoration of the shrine was commissioned in 745 AH (1344–1345 CE) by Queen Tashi Khatun, the mother of Shah Abu Ishaq, the ruler of Fars.
The shrine is renowned for its breathtaking mirror mosaic decoration, created by some of the finest mirror artisans of Shiraz. The craftsmanship is extraordinarily intricate, with approximately 2,000 to 12,000 tiny pieces of mirror meticulously arranged within a single square meter, creating the dazzling interior for which the shrine is famous.
